Mamma Mia 2: Young Donna Outfit Inspiration

Hello once again lovely readers and happy Friday! Yesterday I went to see Mamma Mia 2 for the second time because the movie is incredible! Seriously, if you haven’t seen it yet get down to your local cinema and give it a watch! I fell in love with Young Donna’s (Lily James) style, so I decided to pick out some of my favourite outfits she wore in the movie and find similar items for you. They’re not identical, but I’d say most are pretty close.

Starting off with arguably her most well known outfit: the dungarees and yellow blouse. I found both of these dupes on Boohoo. The dungarees aren’t quite as bright as the movie, but cost £28 and have the same slouchy feel and POCKETS. I’m actually not sure if Donna’s top is floral, however this top is still pretty similar, and costs £16.

Next up we have Donna’s gorgeous striped graduation jumpsuit. She paired it with some very 70s gold knee-high platform boots, but you might get some stares if you wore the boots in the street, but hey, you do you if you like them! I actually found the exact jumpsuit that she wore, but again it’s not very wearable for everyday life and costs a lotttt of money, but I will link it below anyway. I also found this jumpsuit from Romwe for £32, reduced to only £11.50! You could wear a bandeau top underneath it if you want to get a similar look to her.

This outfit has to be my favourite thing that she wore. Sorry for the bad quality of this photo, but for some reason I couldn’t find any clear pictures of it anywhere! It was really hard to find a top even similar to her’s at all, but I eventually found one sort of the same style from pretty little thing, for £4. If you want, you could sew buttons onto it to make it look a little bit more like hers. The wide leg yellow floral trousers are from Misguided, they were £28 reduced to £17.

Donna wore this jacket dress during the Waterloo scene with young Harry. I love it but I found out that it was bought from a vintage shop, so the real thing can’t actually be purchased. I really couldn’t find anything like it online but I found a few options that are more inspired than dupes for it. The dress on the left was reduced from £72 to £52.50 on ASOS. This one is more of a shirt dress but is mainly green and it’s a button down, so it could work. The jacket on the top right is from EBay for £28.50, making it the most affordable of the 3, and finally the jacket on the bottom right is also ASOS, costing £75. I believe it only has 1 or 2 buttons on it so can really only be worn as a jacket but Donna wore it with denim shorts underneath anyway so you could get away with it.

Once again, Donna is wearing the floral (that’s not really floral) top she wore with the overalls earlier on, but this time with an orange maxi skirt. I got two different colour options for this one, depending on whether you prefer mustard or coral tones. The mustard skirt is from a website I found called Marisota, and is £35. The coral one is from Simply Be, reduced from £30 to £23.

That’s all of the outfits I picked today! I only chose 5 of them because it took me forever to find dupes/similar pieces, especially at a decently affordable price. I really hope you liked it! I’m obsessed with her style in the movie, and I think Lily James is a beautiful human being!
